If you come at the right time of year, Spearfish Creek offers some splendid whitewater; Rod and Gun Campground is a brilliant local campground. This lake is so wonderful. While you're here at Straight Lake you can take a hike along the Pettigrew Trail, and why not camp at Timon Campground if you're here at Straight Lake. So many enjoyable things to do here in the Black Hills,       too delightful to be true. But wait, there's more to do near Straight Lake. Jones Spring is an inspiring location to explore during your stay, and on a delightful day you can take a hike along the Iron Creek Trail. Not much rain falls here at Straight Lake; the month with most of the rain is June, and January meanwhile is the driest month. The Black Hills scenery is always beautiful. Pole Cabin Gulch is a delightful location to spend some time at, and                  a great nearby hotel is Spearfish Travelodge. For the period of the long summer days at Straight Lake highs are typically in the 80's. Summer night lows drop down to the 50's. The winter brings highs down to the 30's; night lows all through the wintertime for Straight Lake tend to be in the 0's. Man, is there a load of amusing stuff to do in the Black Hills.
