If you are in this part of Wyoming make sure to pay a visit to Stonehammer Lake. Summer brings highs in the 80's to Stonehammer Lake. Once the sun is down it falls down to the 40's. All through the winter this place gets highs in the 30's while Stonehammer Lake night low temperatures all through the winter are in the 10's. This lake is so wonderful. You'll need more than a day to look at everything Stonehammer Lake has to offer, you can camp at Trails End Campground, and Best Western Pinedale Inn is a pleasant place to get some rest. Since you might be in a lake visiting mood you can always take a look at close by Peak Lake; on a great day you can take a hike along the New Fork Trail. has to offer. Pole Creek is a pleasant whitewater spot close to Stonehammer Lake, and there is a fine hiking trail close by called the Pine Creek Canyon Trail. If the weather is perfect here at Stonehammer Lake, you can go for
a hike along the Shannon Pass Trail, and a brilliant site to have a look at close by is Cube Rock Pass. This lake is so wonderful. There's so much to do here at Stonehammer Lake that you need to camp here for a while, Upper Fremont
Lake Campground is a great site for that. Lakes? Sure, Dale Lake is close by. Stonehammer Lake is one of the lakes here in the Wind River Range. It is very waterless here at Stonehammer Lake mostly; through June this area sees the most rain; February is the month with the least moisture.
