Why not take a refreshing hike along the Beartooth Loop National Recreation Trail; Red Lodge Mountain is a good local ski area. This lake is so wonderful. A great site in the vicinity of Stockade Lake is Beartooth Pass, and there's whitewater on Clarks Fork Yellowstone River for all you adrenaline kick people. There's so much to do here at Stockade Lake that you need to camp here for a while, Long Lake Campground is a brilliant spot       for that; if you need a spot to stay Comfort Inn Red Lodge is a pleasant choice. Summertime highs at Stockade Lake commonly tend to be in the 70's. When the night sets in temperatures fall down into the 30's. Daytime highs through the winter are in the 20's; overnight lows in the 0's for Stockade Lake. Be careful coming to the Absaroka Range, you might not ever want to return back home again. Stockade Lake is good enough to spend more than a day at, Buena Vista                  Campground is a good local campground, and do take a hike on the Morrison Trail. So much fun stuff close to Stockade Lake, clearly unbelievable. Dry warm beds await you at Yodeler Motel; whitewater paddling is not for everybody but if it's for you then, we recommend Clarks Fork Yellowstone River. That right there is a heap of fun stuff already but it goes on, the Absaroka Range has it all. Have a glorious hiking adventure along the Lewis and Clark Trail, and the peak of Sawtooth Mountain can be seen from Stockade Lake. Stockade Lake gets a normal amount of precipitation; the month of June is the wettest with most of the rain, and October is the month with the least moisture. Stockade Lake is located in the Absaroka Range. Do set aside some time for Sawtooth Meadows if you're here at Stockade Lake, and while you're here, you could also stop by wonderful Losekamp Lake.
