On a glorious day at Spring Lake you can take a hike along the Oregon Trail - Lander Cutoff, and there is a perfect hiking trail close by called the Emigrant Trail. If you haven’t been to Fossil Butte National Monument, you should schedule some time for it while you're here, and naturally Coantag Creek is a lovely stream       that is worth stopping at. This lake is so wonderful. If you came to camp Hams Fork Campground is a splendid site to do that, and why not visit Landslide Dam if you're here. For the period of the warm months at Spring Lake temperatures are generally in the 80's. For the period of the moonlight hours it's commonly in the 40's. Throughout the winter this place gets highs in the 20's while Spring Lake nighttime low temperatures during the wintertime are in the 0's.                  Spring Lake gets very little precipitation; through the month of May you get the most rain around here, and July on the other hand is the driest.
