Stay the night at Sourdough Campground, and after a long day outdoors Econo Lodge Buffalo is a great spot to spend a night or two. Near South Fork Pond you come across the Penrose Park Trail which is a good hiking trail, and get wet paddling on Clear Creek. There are other locations here than South Fork Pond, for example Sherd Lake, and there is a good hiking trail nearby called the       Solitude Trail. This lake is so wonderful. South Fork Pond is a pleasant site to visit for more than one day, Circle Park Campground is a pleasant site to camp nearby; on a glorious day you can take a hike along the Angeline Trail. Around South Fork Pond you don’t get a lot of rainfall; April is when you get the most snow here; the driest month is February. At South Fork Pond all through the warmest time of the year highs are in the 60's while nighttime lows                  are generally in the 30's. The wintertime comes with highs in the 20's while the cold winter nights at South Fork Pond are in the 0's. This lake is one of the great places here in the Bighorn Mountains. This lake is so wonderful. So much exciting stuff to do at South Fork Pond, so little time. Soar down the rapids of Powder River - North Fork in a kayak, and why not a little side visit to Duck Creek. This place, the Bighorn Mountains, has so much outdoors entertaining stuff.
