So many exciting things in the Wind River Range, just phenomenal. Float down the rapids of Bull Lake Creek in a kayak, and a great nearby hotel is Best Western Pinedale Inn. Ice Lakes is a magnificent lake in close proximity to Lake Solitude, and a good place to camp here at Lake Solitude is Scab Creek Campground. This lake is so wonderful. You just can't picture the amount of outdoors exciting things the area in close proximity to Lake Solitude has to offer. Don't leave Lake Solitude without first going for a hike along the Pyramid Lake Trail; you can go for a hike on the Fremont Trail. December is when it's the driest. Going for a hike on the Middle Fork Trail is always a great adventure, and camping at Big Sandy Campground is always a splendid experience. During the warm days of summer at Lake Solitude temperatures
are regularly in the 80's; through summer nights temperatures are in the 40's. The cold days of the wintertime come with highs in the 30's; through the dark hours in the winter at Lake Solitude temperatures sink to the 10's.

 | 1 PHOTO I went up there 15 years ago and just got back from another week this last weekend....the fishing was much, much better in the past. I think the WY Game and Fish spends all their golden trout stocking funds on wolves now. The stocking ended the year the wolves were reintroduced.........Hmmm, isn't that interesting! Also....too many llamas and horses bringing the light-weights up the mountain to clutter the place this time....the trails looked like a lost group of Custard's cavalry must still be riding the trails. :( But the beauty of the area will always remain. Thank you, Lord, for your beautiful handiwork.... |

 | The Bears Ears trail is superb. My Sierra Club crew did a lot of trail work here near Mt. Chavenet, and built the replacement Moss Creek footbridge. The Washakie Ranger group are great!... |
Papoose Lake
 | 13 miles away Lake seemed fishless although a beautiful lake. Was there 2 days and only saw 1 rise. Nice place to camp though as there is low traffic. Make sure you follow outlet to avoid massive rock pile.... |
