Why not stop by Solar Lake if you're passing through these parts. Solar Lake is located in the Absaroka Range. What a place this is for outdoors people. If you need a location to stay Yodeler Motel is a brilliant choice, and hey, Gotta ski right? Red Lodge Mountain is a good site to do that. This lake is so wonderful. | | month. During the warmest time of the year, highs mostly are in the 70's at Solar Lake. For the duration of the moonlight hours it's usually in the 30's. The wintertime comes with highs in the 20's, and winter nights come with lows in the 0's to Solar Lake. And that's not everything there is to do here in the Absaroka Range. You'll need more than a day to look at everything Solar Lake has to offer, you can camp at Long Lake Campground, and do take a hike on | |

the Beauty Lake Trail. If you don't mind getting dripping wet, you can always go whitewater paddling on Clarks Fork Yellowstone River, and a magnificent location like Sawtooth Meadows here at Solar Lake is too good to miss. Clarks
Fork Yellowstone River has a tremendous whitewater paddling spot close by, of course you could also go to Fort Lake if you're here; it's not far at all. This lake is so wonderful. Why not take a refreshing hike along the Beartooth
Loop National Recreation Trail, and Solar Lake is not the only spot close by, Hauser Lake is a close by lake. So many cool things in the Absaroka Range, just extraordinary. Solar Lake is right by the Lewis and Clark Trail. There's
so much to do here at Solar Lake that you need to camp here for a while, Buena Vista Campground is a wonderful location for that.
