to stop at, and Grand Teton National Park is no exception, and going for a hike on the Taylor Mountain Trail is always a perfect adventure. A nice place to take a look at in the neighborhood of Ski Lake is Glory Slide, and good
skiing awaits you at Snow King. Whitewater paddling is not for everyone but if it's for you then we recommend Teton Creek; a tremendous panorama of striking Mount Glory is available. This lake is so wonderful. Some nearby water includes
North Fork Trail Creek; you can go for a hike on the Middle Fork Cut Off Trail. You imagine that's enough? Just getting warmed up. There is a great hiking trail near Ski Lake called the Phillips Canyon Trail, and if you come at
the right time of year, Snake River offers some good whitewater. A splendid nearby hotel is Inn at Jackson Hole, as expected you could also take a look at Moose Lake since you're here; it's not far at all. This lake is so wonderful.
A lake close by is Crater Lake. There's so much to do here at Ski Lake that you need to camp here for a while, Trail Creek Campground is a wonderful place for that.

Lake Solitude Trail
14 miles away July 18, 2008 Just got back from a hike to the lake yesterday. Always incredibly beautiful at any time of year (when the trail is open) A lot of flowers blooming earlier than usual because of the copious amount of melt. A bull moose, sow and calf near the trail just past the fork. The last half mile is covered in snow so that can slow you down a little. The lake is still almost completely iced over. Saw two 13'' fish (trout?) in the small, open area of the lake. Marmots snuck around our lunch spot hoping for a hand-out (don't feed anything). One of the most beautiful hikes around. If you think you're a strong hiker but haven't done many hikes or aren't used to the altitude, bring enough water for about a seven hour hike. Stronger hikers can make it in about 5 1/2 hours & seasoned hikers less--but count on a bottle of water (and Gatoraid) every hour....

Lower Palisades Lake
16 miles away 1 PHOTO The four mile hike up to Lower Palisades Lake provide some of the best mountain views in the Swan Valley region. Palisades Creek Trail is well maintained and can be used only by hikers, backpackers or horses as it is in the Palisades wilderness study area. Lower Palisades Lake was formed when a giant landslide came down the canyon and dammed the creek. Palisades Canyon is thickly forested with fir, aspen and willow. It is a canon of steep magnificent cliffs. The Lower Palisades Lake is much smaller than the Upper Palisades Lake and because of its proximity receives most of the traffic. Lower Palisades Lake provides good fishing also. http://www.greater-yellowstone.com/Swan-Valley/lower-palisades-lake.html ...
Jenny Lake Campground
18 miles away We love Jenny Lake and want to camp their with our family and friends...4 kids, 4 adults. I am worried about not having reservations....is that a problem?...Jenny Lake Campground was awesome. The view was amazing. It was quite and secluded, the camp store is just a short walk from the camping sites. The lake is beautiful and quiet, no boats zipping around. We stayed at site #50, other sites that I would recommend are 45,46 and 47. These sites have the best view. The best thing was the FLUSH toilets. If you want a vacation away form all of the touristy things you should definitly stay at Jenny Lake. If you get there in the afternoon grab a site. You can always move the next day. It seemed like a lot of people only stayed 1 night....
Gros Ventre Campground
18 miles away Gros Ventre (pronunced GROW-VONT)Campground in Grand Teton National Park is not to be missed. Moose viewing is spectacular, as well as hearing wolves, coytoes, and the sounds the Bison make walking through the campground. Depending on your campsite, try to be close the the Gros Ventre River for Moose viewing, or try to go towards the town of Kelly, for the most magnificent views of the Teton Range....
