At Simpson Lake you don’t see much rain; June is the wettest month with most rain, and the driest of the months is February. Good hiking is available along the Moon Lake Trail, and in case you don’t have a problem getting covered with water, you can always go whitewater paddling on Wind River. This place, the Wind River Range, has so much outdoors fun stuff. Best Western Pinedale Inn is a nice place to get some rest, and       there's splendid hiking along the Roaring Fork Trail. Simpson Lake is located in the Wind River Range. If you fancy the outdoors you'll fancy it here in the Wind River Range. While you're here at Simpson Lake, you could also stop at delightful Peat Lake, and one of the main highlights of the surroundings of Simpson Lake is Square Top Mountain. During the summer at Simpson Lake temperatures are typically in the 80's. Once the sun is down it plunges down to the 40's.
