Not much rain falls here at Silver Lake; the month of May is the wettest with most of the rain, and the driest month is February. This lake is so wonderful. The Story Penrose Trail is a perfect hiking trail right next door to Silver Lake, and camping is available at Sheridan/Big Horn Mountains KOA. Going for a hike on the Penrose Park Trail is always a fine adventure. Lakes? Sure, Moncreiffe       Reservoir is around here. Summertime brings highs in the 80's to Silver Lake, and the night is a bit cooler of course, usually in the 50's. The winter brings highs down to the 30's while the cold winter nights at Silver Lake are in the 0's. Here at Silver Lake there are plenty of people from Sheridan, and some of the water nearby flows, like Jenks Creek. There are some good whitewater spots on Clear Creek, and camping at Peter D's RV Park is always a great                  experience. This place, Silver Lake, it simply has so much outdoors entertaining stuff. Orr Gulch is a pleasant spot to look at, and if you need a place to stay Quality Inn Sheridan is a good choice. There is a wonderful hiking trail near Silver Lake called the Stockwell Trail; Sheridan-Days Inn is a splendid spot to get some rest.   Quality Inn Sheridan, Sheridan 9 miles away 100 percent non-smoking hotel.
