Throughout the summertime months at Shoal Lake highs are typically in the 70's. For the period of the moonlight hours it's commonly in the 40's. High temperatures through the wintertime are normally in the 20's; winter nights come with lows in the-10's to Shoal Lake. The High Line Trail is a perfect hiking trail in close proximity to Shoal Lake, and a great nearby hotel is Colter Bay Village. This       lake is one of the great places here in the Wind River Range. And if you're still looking for more outdoors enjoyable stuff just keep reading. On a delightful day at Shoal Lake you can take a hike along the Granite Highline Trail. You'll really wish for more hours in a day to enjoy all the fun things in the Wind River Range. If you come at the right time of year, Hoback River offers some nice whitewater, and close by you come across the Sawmill Park Trail which                  is a great hiking trail. This lake is so wonderful. Get yourself into a kayak and hit Granite Creek, and why not camp at Kozy Campground since you're here at Shoal Lake. The panorama of Black Peak from Shoal Lake is lovely, and a good site to camp here at Shoal Lake is Granite Creek Campground.
