A visit to Shirley Lake is always a good idea. After a long day outdoors Super 8 Motel - Dubois is a perfect site to spend a night or two, and glide down the rapids of Boulder Creek in a kayak. That right there is loads of enjoyable stuff already but it goes on, the Wind River Range has it all. Paddling on Green River is so much fun, and Shirley Lake is glorious enough to spend more than a day at, Whiskey Grove Campground is a glorious local campground. This

Be careful coming to the Wind River Range, you might not ever wanna go back home again. You get a great panorama of Big Sheep Mountain from Shirley Lake; if the weather is good, you can go for a hike along the Jim Creek Trail. Summertime at Shirley Lake arrives with high temperatures in the 70's. Once the sun is down it sinks down to the 30's. Shirley Lake tend to be in the-10's. This lake is so wonderful. There's so much to do here at Shirley Lake that you need to camp here for a while, The Narrows Campground is a fine place for that, and going for a hike along the Lakeside
Trail will let you absorb the natural beauty of this vicinity.
This is a brilliant vicinity for folks who like lakes. Bench Lake is a lake nearby, and you can have a great hiking adventure along the Porcupine Trail. And if that's
not sufficient, there's plenty more to do in the neighborhood of Shirley Lake. Don't leave Shirley Lake without first paying a visit to Porcupine Creek Falls, and if you need a site to stay Best Western Pinedale Inn is a delightful
choice. This lake is located in the wonderful Wind River Range.
At Shirley Lake you don’t see much rain; January is when you get the most snow here, and the driest of the months is July.
