If you are in Big Horn county it's always a good idea to stop by Shell Reservoir. But wait, there's more entertaining things to do in the Bighorn Mountains. At Shell Dam right next door to Shell Reservoir there are some out of the ordinary things to see; whitewater paddling is not for everyone but if it's for you then, we recommend Paintrock Creek. This lake is so wonderful. Summertime highs at Shell Reservoir commonly tend to be in the 60's, and during summer

| | nights temperatures are in the 30's. The wintertime comes with highs in the 20's, and overnight lows in the 0's for Shell Reservoir.
Not enough hours in a day to enjoy the Bighorn Mountains. There's fine hiking along the Edelman Trail, and get your heart beating on the good whitewater of Shell Creek. Camping at Upper Paint Rock Lake Campground is always a magnificent experience; the best way to spend a winter day is on the slopes of close by Big Horn Ski. | |

It is very dried up here at Shell Reservoir commonly; the month of April is the wettest with most of the snow while February is frequently the driest month.
This lake is so wonderful. Camping is available at Medicine Lodge Lake
Campground, and hiking is a popular thing to do around Shell Reservoir; North High Park Trail is a pleasant local trail. Shell Reservoir is a beautiful lake in the Bighorn Mountains. Head up to Antelope Butte and strap some skis to
your feet, and don't leave Shell Reservoir without first going for a hike along the Adelaide Trail.
