Sheep Lake is a beautiful lake in the Absaroka Range. Whohoo, so much amusing stuff in one place! The Absaroka Range is peerless!. Good hiking is available along the Cougar Pass Trail, and needless to say, this is a fine neighborhood for people who like lakes, Emerald       Lake is a lake close at hand. It is very dry here at Sheep Lake ordinarily; the wettest month of the year is commonly May, that's the one that rains the most, and the driest of the months is January. There's nice hiking along the Wiggins Fork Trail, and get your heart pumping on the glorious whitewater of Shoshone River - South Fork. So much amusing stuff to do at Sheep Lake, so little time. Jack Creek Campground is a tremendous campground nearby; since                  you might be in a lake visiting mood you can always visit nearby Green Lake. Summertime brings highs in the 80's to Sheep Lake. When the night sets in temperatures plunge down into the 40's. The wintertime brings highs down to the 30's; winter nights come with lows in the 10's to Sheep Lake. Now, you may think that's loads but there's even more exciting stuff to do here in the Absaroka Range.
