This lake is one of the great places here in the Wind River Range. Francis Lake is a nearby lake that you could visit, and there's splendid hiking along the Shadow Lake Trail. This lake is so wonderful. Hiking is a popular thing to do around Shadow Lake; Bears Ears Trail is a good local trail. There's so much to do here at Shadow Lake that you need to camp here for a while, Big Sandy Campground is a wonderful site for       that. While you're here at Shadow Lake, you could also visit charming Twin Lakes, and the Big Sunday Trail offers hiking at its best. That right there is lots of entertaining things already but it goes on, the Wind River Range has it all. The vista of scenic Bair Peak near Shadow Lake is delightful; a glorious nearby hotel is Rodeway Inn Pronghorn Lodge. This is no place for people who don’t like to have fun. Near Shadow Lake you come across wonderful spots                  like Washakie Pass, and Shadow Lake is pleasant enough to spend more than a day at, Dickinson Creek Campground is a pleasant local campground. This lake is so wonderful. Summertime highs at Shadow Lake commonly tend to be in the 80's; the overnight is slightly colder of course, typically in the 40's. Throughout the winter highs are in the 30's, and after the sun is down all through the wintertime temperatures at Shadow Lake sink into the 10's. Shadow Lake is frequently a quite arid spot; throughout May this area sees the most rain; the driest of the months is December. Be careful coming to the Wind River Range, you might not ever want to return home again.
