The beauty of Sawtooth Lake is reason enough to stop by. Through the warmest time of the year here at Sawtooth Lake, high temperatures mostly reach the 70's. All through the moonlight hours it's typically in the 30's. During the wintertime this place gets highs in the 20's; all through the dark hours in the winter at Sawtooth Lake temperatures fall to the 0's. Sawtooth Lake is located in the Absaroka Range. Now, you may believe that's a load but there's even more cool stuff to do here at Sawtooth Lake. If you came for an overnight stay Island Lake Campground is a tremendous location to camp, and the snow is great at Red Lodge Mountain. and you can go for a hike on the Beartooth Loop National Recreation Trail. This lake is so wonderful. A good nearby hotel is Yodeler Motel, and there's brilliant hiking along the Lewis and Clark Trail.
So many entertaining things
to do in the Absaroka Range, not enough time. Sawtooth Mountain is a peak you can see from Sawtooth Lake. An average amount of precipitation falls at Sawtooth Lake; June is the month that gets the most rain while October is the month
with the least amount of precipitation. Why not camp at Long Lake Campground while you're here at Sawtooth Lake; delightful hiking is available along the Morrison Trail.
