You'll really wish for more hours in a day to enjoy all the exciting stuff in the Medicine Bow Mountains. There is a great hiking trail next to Sandy Lake called the Medicine Bow Trail; the top of Browns Peak is easily made out from Sandy Lake. The Medicine Bow Mountains scenery is always beautiful. This lake is so wonderful. There's so much to do here at Sandy Lake that you need to       camp here for a while, Lewis Lake Campground is a good place for that; the Lakes Trail is a good hiking trail nearby. If you like the outdoors you'll like it here in the Medicine Bow Mountains. If you came to camp Mirror Lake Campground is a splendid site to do that, and you're probably interested in lakes, Class Lake is one of those nearby. If you wish for a little side trip, try Snowy Range Pass; after a long day outdoors The Sage And Sand Motel LLC                  is a tremendous spot to spend a night or two. And that's not all you can do here at Sandy Lake. You can never get enough of the pleasant skiing at Snowy Range; if the weather is great, you can go for a hike along the Circle Trail. Nearby lakes? Sure, Pinchot Lake is near Sandy Lake, and if you come at the right time of year, North Platte River offers some wonderful whitewater. All through the summer months, highs usually are in the 80's at Sandy Lake, and all through summer nights temperatures are in the 40's. High temperatures during the winter are normally in the 30's while the cold winter nights at Sandy Lake are in the 10's. This lake is so wonderful.
