Near Sandy Lake you stumble on delightful locations like Snowy Range Pass, and Sandy Lake is right by the Circle Trail. This lake is so wonderful. Really great skiing awaits you at Snowy Range, and paddling on North Platte River is so much fun. Now, you may assume that's a load but there's even more entertaining stuff to do here in the Medicine Bow Mountains.
