Lakes of the Rough is located in the Bighorn Mountains. Not enough hours in a day to enjoy the Bighorn Mountains. If the weather is good here at Lakes of the Rough, you can go for a hike along the Edelman Trail; you can stay the night at Lake Geneva Campground. This lake is so wonderful. Dry warm beds await you at The Passage Resort at Big Horn. There's so much to do here at Lakes       of the Rough that you need to camp here for a while, Upper Paint Rock Lake Campground is a fine spot for that. Throughout the summertime months, highs generally are in the 60's at Lakes of the Rough. During the moonlight hours it's usually in the 30's. The winter brings highs down to the 20's while the cold winter nights at Lakes of the Rough are in the 0's. Around Lakes of the Rough you don’t get a lot of precipitation; the wettest month of the year is                  generally April, that's the one that snows the most; the driest month of the year is February. There is a great hiking trail near Lakes of the Rough called the Main Paint Rock Trail, and why not head up to Big Horn Ski and strap some skis to your feet. Get soaked paddling on Paintrock Creek, and the snow is brilliant at Antelope Butte. Don't stop me now, cause I'm havin' a brilliant time here at Lakes of the Rough. If you're here, you might as well stop at Edelman Pass, and glide down the rapids of Tensleep Creek in a kayak. All the outdoors enjoyable things in the Bighorn Mountains will keep you coming back over and over.
