Rimrock Lake is a location that is reasonably waterless regularly; of all the months in a year May is the one with the most rain, and August is the month with the least moisture. Nearby lakes? Sure, Forget-me-not Lakes is in close proximity to Rimrock Lake, and the Open Canyon Trail is a perfect hiking trail close by. Yeah, come up here to the Teton Range for a perfect time. The snow is pleasant at Snow King, and a fine nearby hotel is Alpenhof Lodge.

| | lake is so wonderful. The best way to spend a winter day is on the slopes of close by Jackson Hole, and close by you find the Alaska Basin Trail which is a great hiking trail. There is a splendid hiking trail near Rimrock Lake called the Granite Canyon Trail, and there's a nice forest called Thunder Basin National Grassland. This lake is so wonderful. Be careful coming to the Teton Range, you might not ever want to return back home again. Looking for something in the neighborhood of Rimrock Lake? Coyote Lake is nearby, and Teton Village / Jackson West KOA is a pleasant
campground nearby. Lots of folks from Jackson come to Rimrock Lake, and you can stay the night at Teton Campground. Life's too short to enjoy all the enjoyable stuff next to Rimrock Lake. The panoramas at Grand Teton National Park
will blow your mind, and the top of Mount Hunt is easily observed from Rimrock Lake.
What a place this is for outdoors people. There are some great whitewater spots on Snake River. Rimrock Lake is located in the Teton Range. For
the duration of the warmest time of the year, highs usually are in the 70's at Rimrock Lake. Summer night lows sink down to the 40's. The cold days of the winter come with highs in the 20's, and nighttime lows in the 0's for Rimrock Lake.

Lake Solitude Trail
 | July 18, 2008 Just got back from a hike to the lake yesterday. Always incredibly beautiful at any time of year (when the trail is open) A lot of flowers blooming earlier than usual because of the copious amount of melt. A bull moose, sow and calf near the trail just past the fork. The last half mile is covered in snow so that can slow you down a little. The lake is still almost completely iced over. Saw two 13'' fish (trout?) in the small, open area of the lake. Marmots snuck around our lunch spot hoping for a hand-out (don't feed anything). One of the most beautiful hikes around. If you think you're a strong hiker but haven't done many hikes or aren't used to the altitude, bring enough water for about a seven hour hike. Stronger hikers can make it in about 5 1/2 hours & seasoned hikers less--but count on a bottle of water (and Gatoraid) every hour.... |
Jenny Lake Campground
 | We love Jenny Lake and want to camp their with our family and friends...4 kids, 4 adults. I am worried about not having reservations....is that a problem?...Jenny Lake Campground was awesome. The view was amazing. It was quite and secluded, the camp store is just a short walk from the camping sites. The lake is beautiful and quiet, no boats zipping around. We stayed at site #50, other sites that I would recommend are 45,46 and 47. These sites have the best view. The best thing was the FLUSH toilets. If you want a vacation away form all of the touristy things you should definitly stay at Jenny Lake. If you get there in the afternoon grab a site. You can always move the next day. It seemed like a lot of people only stayed 1 night.... |
