Wyoming has many beautiful lakes and Rimrock Lake is one of them. Around Rimrock Lake you don’t get a lot of rainfall; the month with most of the rain is May, and the driest month is August. Jackson Hole is a great local ski area, and a trip to Grand Teton National Park is worthwhile. Take a hike on the Alaska Basin Trail, and Snake River Lodge And Spa is a brilliant place to get some rest.

This lake is so wonderful. Hiking is a popular thing to do around Rimrock Lake; Open Canyon Trail is a glorious local trail; Thunder Basin National Grassland is a forest that you can go to. Lakes
are fine; Coyote Lake is a lake that's in the neighborhood of Rimrock Lake, and Teton Campground is a perfect campground nearby. This lake is so wonderful. Float down the rapids of Ditch Creek in a kayak, and if you came for an overnight
stay Teton Village / Jackson West KOA is a magnificent place to camp.
You just can't imagine the amount of outdoors exciting things the area in the vicinity of Rimrock Lake has to offer. If you come at the right time of year,
Snake River offers some tremendous whitewater. So many exciting things to do in the Teton Range, not enough time. On a lovely day you acquire a panorama of Mount Hunt from Rimrock Lake; why not take a refreshing hike along the Granite
Canyon Trail. This place, the Teton Range, has so much outdoors enjoyable stuff. After a long day outdoors Alpenhof Lodge is a brilliant location to spend a night or two, and Rimrock Lake is not far at all from Jackson.

Lake Solitude Trail
 | July 18, 2008 Just got back from a hike to the lake yesterday. Always incredibly beautiful at any time of year (when the trail is open) A lot of flowers blooming earlier than usual because of the copious amount of melt. A bull moose, sow and calf near the trail just past the fork. The last half mile is covered in snow so that can slow you down a little. The lake is still almost completely iced over. Saw two 13'' fish (trout?) in the small, open area of the lake. Marmots snuck around our lunch spot hoping for a hand-out (don't feed anything). One of the most beautiful hikes around. If you think you're a strong hiker but haven't done many hikes or aren't used to the altitude, bring enough water for about a seven hour hike. Stronger hikers can make it in about 5 1/2 hours & seasoned hikers less--but count on a bottle of water (and Gatoraid) every hour.... |
Jenny Lake Campground
 | We love Jenny Lake and want to camp their with our family and friends...4 kids, 4 adults. I am worried about not having reservations....is that a problem?...Jenny Lake Campground was awesome. The view was amazing. It was quite and secluded, the camp store is just a short walk from the camping sites. The lake is beautiful and quiet, no boats zipping around. We stayed at site #50, other sites that I would recommend are 45,46 and 47. These sites have the best view. The best thing was the FLUSH toilets. If you want a vacation away form all of the touristy things you should definitly stay at Jenny Lake. If you get there in the afternoon grab a site. You can always move the next day. It seemed like a lot of people only stayed 1 night.... |
