If you are in this part of Wyoming make sure to pay a visit to Ralston Reservoir. Eaglenest Creek is a fine place to stop at, and camping is available at Ponderosa Campground. This lake is so wonderful. There are some splendid whitewater spots on Shoshone River; a fine site to camp here at Ralston Reservoir is Cody Koa Kampground. There is a delightful hiking trail right next door to Ralston Reservoir called the Jim Bridger Trail; a tremendous nearby hotel is Lamplighter

Ralston Reservoir is typically a reasonably arid spot; the month with most of the rain is May while February is frequently the driest month. All through the warm months, highs frequently are in the 80's at Ralston Reservoir; all through summer nights temperatures are in the 50's. Highs through the winter are usually in the 30's, and winter nights come with lows in the 0's to Ralston Reservoir.
