While you're here at Rainbow Lake you can take a hike along the Lewis and Clark Trail, and you can stay the night                  at Long Lake Campground. Rainbow Lake is a beautiful lake in the Absaroka Range. The annual rain here at Rainbow Lake is about average; the wettest month of the year is ordinarily June, that's the one that rains the most while October is the month with the least amount of precipitation. Do go to Fort Lake in the neighborhood of Rainbow Lake, it's a delightful lake, and you can hit the slopes at Red Lodge Mountain close at hand. Paddling on Clarks Fork Yellowstone River is so much fun; you can have a glorious hiking adventure along the Beartooth Loop National Recreation Trail. Now, you may feel that's loads but there's even more fun things to do here in the Absaroka Range.
