What a nice lake Rainbow Lake is. Rainbow Lake gets a common amount of precipitation; through June this area sees the most rain; October is when it's the driest. This lake is one of the great places here in the Absaroka Range. Summer at Rainbow Lake comes with high temperatures in the 70's; the nighttime is somewhat colder of course, frequently in the 30's. For the period of the winter highs are in the 20's, and winter nights come with lows in the 0's to Rainbow

This lake is so wonderful. On a wonderful day at Rainbow Lake you can take a hike along the Beartooth Loop National Recreation Trail, and camping at Island Lake Campground is always a splendid experience. If you come at the right time of year, Clarks Fork Yellowstone River offers some good whitewater; Red Lodge Mountain is a great local ski area. And if that's not enough there's a heap more cool things to do in the Absaroka Range. If you need a location to stay Yodeler Motel is a great choice, and
there are some splendid whitewater spots on Clarks Fork Yellowstone River. If you came to camp Long Lake Campground is a great place to do that, and the Lewis and Clark Trail is a delightful hiking trail close by.
