There's just no way anybody can get bored here at Porter Reservoir. There's so much to do here at Porter Reservoir that you need to camp here for a while, Hatchet Campground is a tremendous place for that, needless to say you could also pop by Marys Lake since you're here; it's not far at all. National Park is quite in close proximity to Porter Reservoir; a lake nearby is Wallace Draw-Reservoir. At Porter Dam in the vicinity of Porter Reservoir there are some out of the ordinary things to see.
High temperatures at Porter
Reservoir during the summer months are in the 70's. Once the sun is down it dips down to the 30's. The wintertime comes with highs in the 20's, and nighttime lows all through the winter for Porter Reservoir tend to be in the-10's.
If you came to camp Grand Teton Park RV Resort is a glorious place to do that; you can have a pleasant hiking adventure along the Lava Creek Trail. This lake is so wonderful. A good place for whitewater paddling near Porter Reservoir
is Gros Ventre River, and after a long day outdoors Togwotee Mountain Lodge is a glorious place to spend a night or two.
Porter Reservoir gets a normal amount of yearly precipitation; during January this area sees the most snow while July is usually the driest month.
