There's so much to do here at Porter Lake that you need to camp here for a while, Rock River Koa Kampground is a delightful place for that. Not much precipitation falls here at Porter Lake; July is the month that gets the most rain while February is the month with the least amount of precipitation. For the duration of the summer months at Porter Lake temperatures are generally in the 70's while       night lows are regularly in the 40's. During the winter highs are in the 30's; through the dark hours in the winter at Porter Lake temperatures dip to the 10's. This lake is so wonderful. At Porter Lake you always meet someone from Laramie, and do visit Hardigan Lake, it's a pretty lake. Table Mountain is clearly visible from Porter Lake, and whitewater paddling is good on Laramie River. But wait, there's more to do near Porter Lake. Go for a hike on the                  Overland Trail; Rex Lake is a nearby lake that you could visit. After a long day outdoors Fairfield Inn & Suites Laramie is a splendid location to spend a night or two. Good hiking is available along the Arlington Pack Trail.
