If you need a spot to stay Super 8 Motel - Gardiner is a perfect choice. On a great day at Phantom Lake you can take a hike along the Yellowstone River Trail, and Tower Fall Campground is a pleasant campground nearby. Phantom Lake is a location that is rather waterless mostly; the month with most of the rain is May, and February is when it's the driest. This lake is so wonderful. Cottonwood Creek       is near Phantom Lake and is always a delight to visit, and there is a good hiking trail close by called the Lower Blacktail Trail. The warmest time of the year at Phantom Lake arrives with high temperatures in the 80's; all through summer nights temperatures are in the 50's. Through the wintertime this place gets highs in the 30's, and after the sun is down through the wintertime temperatures at Phantom Lake sink into the 10's.
