North Fork Squirrel Creek is one of the streams close by that might be worth taking a look at, and you'll never forgive yourself if you don’t go skiing at Snowy Range while you're here. Yep, outdoors exciting stuff to do are truly plentiful here at Lake Owen. The Mendenhall Trail is a splendid hiking trail close to Lake Owen, and Hidden Valley Picnic - Medicine Bow National Forest is a nice local campground.       This lake is so wonderful. At Lake Owen you always meet someone from Laramie, and if you're interested in hydro structures, you can take a look at Lake Owen Dam. Summer at Lake Owen arrives with high temperatures in the 70's. During the moonlight hours it's mostly in the 40's. For the period of the winter highs are in the 30's with winter lows in the 10's overnight here at Lake Owen. Laramie River is a magnificent whitewater spot near Lake Owen; the peak                  of Iron Mountain can be seen from Lake Owen. Around Lake Owen you don’t get a lot of precipitation; July is when you get the most rain here while February is the month with the least amount of precipitation. This site, the Medicine Bow Mountains, has so much outdoors cool stuff. Lakes are pleasant; Lake Owen is a lake that's close to Lake Owen, and close by you stumble on the Circle Trail which is a splendid hiking trail. This lake is so wonderful. So much exciting stuff to do in the Medicine Bow Mountains, not enough time. On a good day at Lake Owen you can take a hike along the Pache Trail; if you came for an overnight stay Lake Owen Campground is a good spot to camp.
