Obsidian Lake is a very beautiful lake in beautiful surroundings. Yellowstone River is a great whitewater spot next to Obsidian Lake, and you can go for a hike on the Sepulcher Loop Trail. A short visit to Apollinaris Spring is always worthwhile, and Super 8 Motel - Gardiner is a tremendous place to get some rest. Lemonade Creek is a brilliant local stream. Not much rainfall falls here at Obsidian Lake; May is when you get the most rain here; February is the month with the least moisture. This lake is so wonderful. If you need a site to stay Best Western Mammoth Hot Springs is a good choice; if you're here at Obsidian Lake, checking out Obsidian Cliff is a must.
