Papoose Lake
Lake seemed fishless although a beautiful lake. Was there 2 days and only saw 1 rise. Nice place to camp though as there is low traffic. Make sure you follow outlet to avoid massive rock pile....
Bears Ears Trail
The Bears Ears trail is superb. My Sierra Club crew did a lot of trail work here near Mt. Chavenet, and built the replacement Moss Creek footbridge. The Washakie Ranger group are great!...
Ice Lakes
11 miles away 1 PHOTO I went up there 15 years ago and just got back from another week this last weekend....the fishing was much, much better in the past. I think the WY Game and Fish spends all their golden trout stocking funds on wolves now. The stocking ended the year the wolves were reintroduced.........Hmmm, isn't that interesting! Also....too many llamas and horses bringing the light-weights up the mountain to clutter the place this time....the trails looked like a lost group of Custard's cavalry must still be riding the trails. :( But the beauty of the area will always remain. Thank you, Lord, for your beautiful handiwork....
Sonnicant Lake
12 miles away Lake is centraly located in the saint lawrence basin lakes. Good views, makina (lake)trout mostly, easy 9 hour hike....
