There's splendid hiking along the Emigrant Trail, and if you came to camp Murphy Creek Campground is a great spot to do that. After a long day outdoors Jackson Lake Lodge is a splendid place to spend a night or two, and Greys River is a splendid whitewater spot nearby. For the duration of the warmest time of the year at Murphy Lakes highs are typically in the 80's. Once the sun is down it falls       down to the 50's. The wintertime brings highs down to the 20's, and after the sun is down all through the wintertime temperatures at Murphy Lakes descend into the 10's. Around Murphy Lakes you don’t get a lot of rainfall; most of the rain falls throughout May while July is usually the driest month. This lake is so wonderful. Don't leave Murphy Lakes without first going for a hike along the Stewart Trail; if you don’t have a problem getting wet, you can                  always go whitewater paddling on Snake River. Take a side visit to North Fork Murphy Creek, and Murphy Lakes is magnificent enough to spend more than a day at, Lynx Creek Campground is a magnificent local campground.
