Don't leave Mud Lake without first going for a hike along the South Gypsum Trail, and if you came to camp Whiskey Grove Campground is a great location to do that. All the outdoors cool stuff in the Wind River Range will keep you coming back again and again. Going for a hike on the Highline Trail is always a nice adventure; Mud Lake is good enough to spend more       than a day at, The Narrows Campground is a good local campground. If you come at the right time of year, Boulder Creek offers some nice whitewater, and Super 8 Motel - Dubois is a nice spot to get some rest. That right there is lots already, but it goes on; Mud Lake has it all. Get yourself into a kayak and hit Green River. Not much rainfall falls here at Mud Lake; most of the snow falls during January, and July is the month with the least moisture. Summertime                  highs at Mud Lake ordinarily tend to be in the 70's. Throughout the moonlight hours it's usually in the 30's. Daytime highs throughout the winter are in the 20's, and night lows at Mud Lake during the wintertime commonly fall into the-10's. There are perfect places to look at along the Lake of the Woods Trail, and there's some flowing water close by, Moose Creek is a stream you can stop at during your stay.
