Green River is a perfect whitewater spot close to Mud Lake, and hiking along the Highline Trail is good fun. So much fun stuff near Mud Lake, truly unbelievable. Going for a hike along the Lake of the Woods Trail will let you absorb the natural beauty of this area, and not far from Mud Lake you'll discover Brook Lake which is a stunning lake. These mountains rock, just       look at all the fun things to do in the Wind River Range. There's so much to do here at Mud Lake that you need to camp here for a while, Whiskey Grove Campground is a brilliant site for that; if the weather is good, you can go for a hike along the South Gypsum Trail. Mud Lake is a location that is quite dried out typically; the month with most of the snow is January, and the driest of the months is July. In case you don’t mind getting wet, you can always                  go whitewater paddling on Boulder Creek; let's not forget Moose Creek which is a stream that you may run into while you're here. Mud Lake is fine enough to spend more than a day at, The Narrows Campground is a fine local campground; a perfect nearby hotel is Super 8 Motel - Dubois. You truly should love the Wind River Range.
