After a long day outdoors Sheridan-Days Inn is a fine place to spend a night or two, and nice hiking is available along the Stockwell Trail. A great nearby hotel is Quality Inn Sheridan; hiking is a popular thing to do around Mountain Reservoir; Penrose Park Trail is a magnificent local trail. This lake is so wonderful. Moncreiffe Dam is worth checking out since you're here, and if you're visiting from Sheridan, you       won't be the only one. You'll wish for more hours in a day to enjoy all the fun stuff at Mountain Reservoir. You're almost certainly hooked on lakes, Moncreiffe Reservoir is one of those close by, and camping at Cabin Creek Trailer Campground - Bighorn National Forest is always a brilliant experience. This lake is so wonderful. Whitewater paddling is not for everybody but if it's for you then we recommend Clear Creek. Go for a hike on the Story Penrose Trail;                  obviously, this is a delightful neighborhood for folks who like lakes, Menardi And White Reservoir is a lake in the vicinity. Around Mountain Reservoir you don’t get a lot of rain; May is the wettest month with most rain while February is frequently the driest month. Summertime highs at Mountain Reservoir usually tend to be in the 80's while night lows are typically in the 50's. Daytime highs through the winter are in the 30's; winter nights come with lows in the 0's to Mountain Reservoir.
