Lower Palisades Lake
 | 16 miles away 1 PHOTO The four mile hike up to Lower Palisades Lake provide some of the best mountain views in the Swan Valley region. Palisades Creek Trail is well maintained and can be used only by hikers, backpackers or horses as it is in the Palisades wilderness study area. Lower Palisades Lake was formed when a giant landslide came down the canyon and dammed the creek. Palisades Canyon is thickly forested with fir, aspen and willow. It is a canon of steep magnificent cliffs. The Lower Palisades Lake is much smaller than the Upper Palisades Lake and because of its proximity receives most of the traffic. Lower Palisades Lake provides good fishing also. http://www.greater-yellowstone.com/Swan-Valley/lower-palisades-lake.html ... |
Jenny Lake Campground
 | 17 miles away We love Jenny Lake and want to camp their with our family and friends...4 kids, 4 adults. I am worried about not having reservations....is that a problem?...Jenny Lake Campground was awesome. The view was amazing. It was quite and secluded, the camp store is just a short walk from the camping sites. The lake is beautiful and quiet, no boats zipping around. We stayed at site #50, other sites that I would recommend are 45,46 and 47. These sites have the best view. The best thing was the FLUSH toilets. If you want a vacation away form all of the touristy things you should definitly stay at Jenny Lake. If you get there in the afternoon grab a site. You can always move the next day. It seemed like a lot of people only stayed 1 night.... |
