Spearfish-Days Inn is a great location to get some rest, and there is a good hiking trail nearby called the Pettigrew Trail. Throughout the summer here at Montana Lake, high temperatures ordinarily reach the 80's. Once the sun is down it drops down to the 50's. For the duration of the winter highs are usually in the 30's while Montana Lake night low temperatures all through the wintertime are       in the 10's. And that's not all you can do here at Montana Lake. You'll need more than a day to discover everything Montana Lake has to offer, you can camp at Timon Campground, and if the weather is pleasant, you can go for a hike along the Beaver Ridge Trail. There's so much to do here at Montana Lake that you need to camp here for a while, Iron Creek Lake is a brilliant location for that, and on a good day you can take a hike along the Bear Gulch Trail.                  If you need a place to stay Spearfish Travelodge is a magnificent choice, and whitewater paddling is not for everyone but if it's for you then, we recommend Spearfish Creek. Montana Lake is generally a quite dehydrated spot; the month of June is the wettest with most of the rain, and January is the month with the least moisture.
