At Middle Piney Reservoir you don’t see much rainfall; of all the months in a year May is the one with the most rain, and July is the month with the least moisture. Fossil Butte National Monument is a nice national park, and Fish Creek Mountain is a peak you can see from Middle Piney Reservoir. During the long summer days, highs generally are in the 70's at Middle Piney Reservoir. When the night sets in temperatures       sink down into the 40's. Daytime highs through the wintertime are in the 20's; nighttime lows at Middle Piney Reservoir through the winter generally fall into the 0's. This lake is so wonderful. There is a good hiking trail right next door to Middle Piney Reservoir called the Wyoming Range Trail, and a great place to camp here at Middle Piney Reservoir is Sacajawea Campground. What a location this is for outdoors people. Middle Piney Reservoir is wonderful                  enough to spend more than a day at, Middle Piney Lake Campground is a wonderful local campground. Go for a hike on the Wyoming Range Trail, and Middle Piney Dam is a pretty spot.
