This lake is one of the great places here in the Wind River Range. Mays Lake gets very little rainfall; most of the rain falls during May, and the driest month of the year is December. This lake is so wonderful. Twin Lakes is a brilliant lake near Mays Lake, and here at Mays Lake you can distinguish Dike Mountain. For the duration of the long summer days at Mays Lake temperatures are ordinarily       in the 80's. Summer nighttime lows dip down to the 40's. The wintertime comes with highs in the 30's while Mays Lake overnight low temperatures during the winter are in the 10's. Mays Lake really is in the middle of a stunning outdoors paradise. Near Mays Lake you discover the Pyramid Lake Trail which is a good hiking trail, and lakes are such peaceful spots, why not check out Shelia Lake. Having a glorious time in the Wind River Range is trouble-free. A good spot                  to go to right next door to Mays Lake is Haily Pass, and going for a hike on the Hailey Pass Trail is always a fine adventure. But wait, there's more fun stuff to do in the Wind River Range. A cool spot to stop at right next door to Mays Lake is Hooker Glacier, and Big Sandy Campground is a wonderful local campground. Why not go to nearby Washakie Creek since you're here at Mays Lake, and in case you don’t mind getting drenched, you can always go whitewater paddling on Bull Lake Creek. This lake is so wonderful. A delightful nearby hotel is Rodeway Inn Pronghorn Lodge.
