A great close by hotel is Sheridan-Days Inn, and Maybelle Lake is not the only place close by, Lake McLain is a close by lake. During the warmest time of the year here at Maybelle Lake, high temperatures usually reach the 60's. Summer night lows descend down to the 30's. Daytime highs through the winter are in the 20's, and all through the dark hours in the winter at Maybelle Lake temperatures       dip to the 0's. Not enough hours in a day to enjoy the Bighorn Mountains. This lake is one of the great places here in the Bighorn Mountains. This lake is so wonderful. Float down the rapids of Tensleep Creek in a kayak, and Maybelle Lake is right by the Mistymoon Trail. Maybelle Lake gets very little precipitation; the month with most of the snow is April while February is ordinarily the driest month. But wait, there's more cool stuff to do in the Bighorn                  Mountains. Why not camp at Lake Creek Campground if you're here at Maybelle Lake, and the Angeline Trail offers hiking at its best. Maybelle Lake in fact is in the middle of a pretty outdoors paradise. If you come at the right time of year, Powder River - North Fork offers some brilliant whitewater, and if you've had enough of Maybelle Lake, East Tensleep Lake is nearby.
