After a long day outdoors Gray Wolf Inn & Suites is a magnificent place to spend a night or two, and there's wonderful hiking along the Shoshone Lake Trail. This lake is so wonderful. Drift down the rapids of Snake River in a kayak; don't leave Mallard Lake       without first going for a hike along the De Lacy Creek Trail. Mallard Lake is a nice site to visit for more than one day, Madison Campground is a nice site to camp nearby, and you can go for a hike on the Mallard Lake Trail. High temperatures at Mallard Lake during the warm days of summer are in the 70's, and throughout summer nights temperatures are in the 40's.
