     Macon Lake is always a pleasure to visit. Macon Lake is pretty waterless commonly; May is the wettest month with most rain, and the driest month of the year is December. There's whitewater on Bull Lake Creek for all you adrenaline junkies, and there is a pleasant hiking trail close by called the Shadow Lake Trail. Now, you may think that's loads but there's even more exciting stuff to do here in the Wind River Range. You simply ought to explore Washakie Glacier  
   while you're here at Macon Lake; on a wonderful day you can take a hike along the Bears Ears Trail.
The Wind River Range scenery is always beautiful. Summer at Macon Lake comes with high temperatures in the 80's. When the night sets in temperatures fall down into the 40's. For the period of the wintertime this place gets highs in the 30's, and overnight lows at Macon Lake all through the wintertime commonly drop into the 10's. This is no location for people
 
               who don’t like to enjoy themselves. Why not camp at Dickinson Creek Campground if you're here at Macon Lake; from Macon Lake you get a brilliant panorama of Bair Peak.
This lake is so wonderful. Washakie Pass is close to Macon Lake and is a delightful place, and going for a hike on the Hailey Pass Trail is always a splendid adventure. A nice location to camp here at Macon Lake is Big Sandy Campground, and after a long day outdoors Rodeway Inn Pronghorn Lodge is a pleasant place to spend a night or two. Whohoo, so many entertaining things in one place! The Wind River Range rocks! Lakes are magnificent; Twin Lakes is a lake that's near Macon Lake.
