And if you're still looking for more outdoors amusing things just keep reading. On a glorious day at Macon Lake you can take a hike along the Shadow Lake Trail, and camping is available at Dickinson Creek Campground. So much fun stuff in the Wind River Range, just unbelievable. On a pretty day you obtain a view of Bair Peak from Macon Lake, and there is a brilliant hiking trail close by called the Hailey Pass Trail. For the duration of the summer months highs
here at Macon Lake get into the 80's; the nighttime is slightly colder of course, typically in the 40's. High temperatures all through the winter are normally in the 30's while the cold winter nights at Macon Lake are in the 10's.
Macon Lake is a location that is rather dry regularly; the wettest month of the year is regularly May, that's the one that rains the most, and December meanwhile is the driest month. If the weather is splendid here at Macon Lake,

you can go for a hike along the Bears Ears Trail, and camping at Big Sandy Campground is always a delightful experience. This lake is so wonderful. Dry warm beds await you at Rodeway Inn Pronghorn Lodge, as expected you could also stop at Pass Lake while you're here; it's not far at all.
If you're here, you might as well check out Washakie Pass, and Washakie Glacier is an out of the ordinary place to stop at while at Macon Lake. This lake is so wonderful. Life's too short to enjoy all the cool things in the Wind River Range. Looking for something close to Macon Lake? Washakie Lake is around here, and in case you don’t mind getting wet, you can always go whitewater paddling on Bull Lake Creek.
Macon Lake is a beautiful lake in the Wind River Range.

MORE STUFF NEARBY:

Bears Ears Trail
The Bears Ears trail is superb. My Sierra Club crew did a lot of trail work here near Mt. Chavenet, and built the replacement Moss Creek footbridge. The Washakie Ranger group are great!...

Papoose Lake
Lake seemed fishless although a beautiful lake. Was there 2 days and only saw 1 rise. Nice place to camp though as there is low traffic. Make sure you follow outlet to avoid massive rock pile....

Ice Lakes
1 PHOTO
I went up there 15 years ago and just got back from another week this last weekend....the fishing was much, much better in the past. I think the WY Game and Fish spends all their golden trout stocking funds on wolves now. The stocking ended the year the wolves were reintroduced.........Hmmm, isn't that interesting! Also....too many llamas and horses bringing the light-weights up the mountain to clutter the place this time....the trails looked like a lost group of Custard's cavalry must still be riding the trails. :( But the beauty of the area will always remain. Thank you, Lord, for your beautiful handiwork....

Sonnicant Lake
Lake is centraly located in the saint lawrence basin lakes. Good views, makina (lake)trout mostly, easy 9 hour hike....
