Having a magnificent time in the Wind River Range is easy. A pleasant close by hotel is Colter Bay Village; Grand Teton National Park is one of the destinations that are good to go to close by. | | stumble on Hardiman Number 2 Reservoir which is a delightful lake, and Red Hills Campground is a good campground nearby.
Lower Slide Lake is a location that is relatively dried out regularly; most of the snow falls all through January, and the driest month is July. Jenny Lake Lodge is a great location to get some rest, and Atherton Creek Campground is a magnificent local campground.

King is in the vicinity of Lower Slide Lake; hiking along the Granite Highline Trail is nice fun. You can run the rapids of Ditch Creek right next door to Lower Slide Lake. Lakes? Sure, Hardemann Reservoir is nearby. The Wind River
Range scenery is always beautiful.
Throughout the months of summer, highs commonly are in the 70's at Lower Slide Lake; during summer nights temperatures are in the 40's. Through the wintertime this place gets highs in the 20's
with temperatures at Lower Slide Lake dipping down into the-10's through winter nights. This is no site for people who don’t like to enjoy themselves. There's whitewater on Gros Ventre River for all you adrenaline junkies; going for a hike along the Emma Matilda Lake Trail will let you absorb the natural beauty of this vicinity.

Moose viewing is spectacular, as well as hearing wolves, coytoes, and the sounds the Bison make walking through the campground. Depending on your campsite, try to be close the the Gros Ventre River for Moose viewing, or try to go towards the town of Kelly, for the most magnificent views of the Teton Range.... |

We love Jenny Lake and want to camp their with our family and friends...4 kids, 4 adults. I am worried about not having reservations....is that a problem?...Jenny Lake Campground was awesome. The view was amazing. It was quite and secluded, the camp store is just a short walk from the camping sites. The lake is beautiful and quiet, no boats zipping around. We stayed at site #50, other sites that I would recommend are 45,46 and 47. These sites have the best view. The best thing was the FLUSH toilets. If you want a vacation away form all of the touristy things you should definitly stay at Jenny Lake. If you get there in the afternoon grab a site. You can always move the next day. It seemed like a lot of people only stayed 1 night.... |

Actually, the river is in the Gros Ventre range(pronounced Grow Vont). There is probably closer to 8 miles of boating for kayakers, or rafts at higher spring flows. The best section being below the confluence of Little Granite Creek.... |
