Long Lake is a nice lake to visit. The warmest time of the year brings highs in the 70's to Long Lake. When the night sets in temperatures descend down into the 30's. Highs during the wintertime are generally in the 20's, and winter nights come with lows in the 0's to Long Lake. Island Lake Campground is a delightful local campground, and a brilliant nearby hotel is Yodeler Motel. Whitewater paddling is not for everybody but if it's for you then we recommend

This lake is so wonderful. There are some great whitewater spots on Clarks Fork Yellowstone River; why not take a refreshing hike along the Beartooth Loop National Recreation Trail.
