Go to Lonesome Lake if you want to go to a nice lake. This lake is located in the wonderful Absaroka Range. Very stunning scenery and great skiing is what you get at Red Lodge Mountain, and there is a wonderful hiking trail nearby called the Clay Butte Trail. And if that's not enough, there's lots more to do near Lonesome Lake. Whitewater paddling is not for everyone but if it's for you then we recommend Clarks Fork Yellowstone River, and on a splendid day

| | you can take a hike along the Beartooth Highlakes Trail. Throughout the warm months at Lonesome Lake temperatures are mostly in the 70's, and through summer nights temperatures are in the 30's. During the wintertime this place gets highs in the 20's, and nighttime lows in the 0's for Lonesome Lake. If you came for an overnight stay Beartooth Lake Campground is a wonderful location to camp; not far from Lonesome Lake you'll stumble on Abandoned Lake which is a wonderful lake. You just have to fancy the Absaroka Range. There's
whitewater on Clarks Fork Yellowstone River for all you adrenaline rush seekers; the Beauty Lake Trail is a good hiking trail close by. Lonesome Lake gets a typical amount of yearly precipitation; the month with most of the rain is June, and the driest month is October. This lake is so wonderful.
