Little Divide Lake is a lake worth visiting. At Little Divide Lake during the summertime highs are in the 70's, and the night is rather chillier of course, commonly in the 40's. For the duration of the winter highs are in the 20's while the cold winter nights at Little Divide Lake are in the-10's. You'll truly wish for more hours in a day to enjoy all the amusing things in the Wind River Range. Go for a hike on the Sage Basin Trail; get your heart pumping on

| | the good whitewater of Pole Creek. Not much rainfall falls here at Little Divide Lake; the month of May is the wettest with most of the rain; February is when it's the driest.
This lake is so wonderful. There's some flowing water nearby, Middle Fork Boulder Creek is a stream you can explore while here. There's so much to do here at Little Divide Lake that you need to camp here for a while, Scab Creek Campground is a glorious site for that. Not enough hours | |

in a day to enjoy this site. Good hiking is available along the Scab Sage Trail; Little Divide Lake is magnificent enough to spend more than a day at, Boulder Campground is a magnificent local campground.
There's great hiking
along the Lowline Trail. Lakes are great; Divide Reservoir is a lake that's in close proximity to Little Divide Lake. This lake is so wonderful. After a long day outdoors Best Western Pinedale Inn is a good place to spend a night
or two; whitewater paddling is not for everybody but if it's for you then, we recommend Boulder Creek. If you love the outdoors you'll love it here in the Wind River Range. This is a pleasant area for folks who like lakes. Divide
Lake is a lake close by, and not far from Little Divide Lake you acquire some delightful water scenery at Divide Dam.
This lake is one of the great places here in the Wind River Range.

Scab Lake Trail
 | scab lake trail is not one for the weak, it is a hard climb with outstanding rewards of beauty & huge high powered brilliantly colored brook trout up to 6 lbs that we know of in scab lake! oh almost forgot the last time I went was July 5 it snowed at scab 18 plus inches, I hope that I remembered to tell that the 11 mile trail to the scab lake is a hard hard climb, I have only made it 3 times to the lake thanks Allen Eagle concrete worker & stock car racer Jackson Hole... |
Hay Pass Trail
| I backpacked over Hay Pass (from Boulder Lake Trailhead to to Golden Lakes) last July 25. Easy ascent to pass except for stream crossings, trail gets faint for about 1/4 mi.above Dennis Lake (quite a view down to the lake. At the outlet of the unnamed lake (Beth Lake???) below the pass on the west side (at head of North Fk Boulder Cr.) water was high & swift, so I routed eastward around to the head of the lake crossing 2 inlet streams where they braid apart. through thick willows- a slow deal, but better than hip-deep swift water at the outlet. Great cutthroat fishing at Victor Lake (on fish to 19) during a hail storm. Guess the fish thought the hail was a swarm of bugs. Saw nobody else from Victor lk. to Golden Lks and back (3 days). Not the most spectacular scenery in the range (peaks are mostly round-topped, not like the jagged peaks to the north or south), but no people and great fishing (Golden Lakes had lots of 14 goldens but they were not biting- typical of goldens). Going in again this July, only farther this time, north of Golden Lakes. Anybody going that way?... |

I went up there 15 years ago and just got back from another week this last weekend....the fishing was much, much better in the past. I think the WY Game and Fish spends all their golden trout stocking funds on wolves now. The stocking ended the year the wolves were reintroduced.........Hmmm, isn't that interesting! Also....too many llamas and horses bringing the light-weights up the mountain to clutter the place this time....the trails looked like a lost group of Custard's cavalry must still be riding the trails. :( But the beauty of the area will always remain. Thank you, Lord, for your beautiful handiwork.... |
