Little Bob Lake is always a pleasure to visit. Good hiking is available along the Dry Creek Trail, and Little Bob Lake is great enough to spend more than a day at, Longhorn RV & Motel is a great local campground. High temperatures at Little Bob Lake throughout the warm days of summer are in the 80's, and through the night it cools down to the 40's. All through the winter highs are in the 30's with winter lows in the 10's overnight here at Little Bob Lake. Now,
you may feel that's plenty but there's even more cool stuff to do here in the Wind River Range. A lake close by is Bob Lakes, and Bull Lake Creek is a great whitewater spot nearby.
This lake is so wonderful. While you're here at Little Bob Lake it's a tremendous idea to stop by Lenagon Meadows; hiking is a popular thing to do around Little Bob Lake; Dinwoody Trail is a glorious local trail. Whohoo, so much cool stuff in one place! The Wind River Range

is peerless! After a long day outdoors Super 8 Motel - Dubois is a tremendous spot to spend a night or two. Little Bob Lake is pretty waterless mostly; most of the rain falls all through June while February is the month with the least amount of precipitation.
There's just no way anybody can get bored here at Little Bob Lake. In the event that you don’t have a problem getting soaked, you can always go whitewater paddling on Wind River, and there's great hiking along the Ink Wells Trail. Don't forget to take a fine little spree to Relic Creek, obviously you could also go to Horseshoe Lake while you're here; it's not far at all. This lake is located in the wonderful Wind River Range.

Hay Pass Trail
14 miles away
I backpacked over Hay Pass (from Boulder Lake Trailhead to to Golden Lakes) last July 25. Easy ascent to pass except for stream crossings, trail gets faint for about 1/4 mi.above Dennis Lake (quite a view down to the lake. At the outlet of the unnamed lake (Beth Lake???) below the pass on the west side (at head of North Fk Boulder Cr.) water was high & swift, so I routed eastward around to the head of the lake crossing 2 inlet streams where they braid apart. through thick willows- a slow deal, but better than hip-deep swift water at the outlet. Great cutthroat fishing at Victor Lake (on fish to 19) during a hail storm. Guess the fish thought the hail was a swarm of bugs. Saw nobody else from Victor lk. to Golden Lks and back (3 days). Not the most spectacular scenery in the range (peaks are mostly round-topped, not like the jagged peaks to the north or south), but no people and great fishing (Golden Lakes had lots of 14 goldens but they were not biting- typical of goldens). Going in again this July, only farther this time, north of Golden Lakes. Anybody going that way?...

I went up there 15 years ago and just got back from another week this last weekend....the fishing was much, much better in the past. I think the WY Game and Fish spends all their golden trout stocking funds on wolves now. The stocking ended the year the wolves were reintroduced.........Hmmm, isn't that interesting! Also....too many llamas and horses bringing the light-weights up the mountain to clutter the place this time....the trails looked like a lost group of Custard's cavalry must still be riding the trails. :( But the beauty of the area will always remain. Thank you, Lord, for your beautiful handiwork....

Ross Lake Trail
18 miles away
In four days four of us caught 13 fish over 20 inches and 27 fish overall, none of which were less than 14 inches.  Campsites are plentiful and established.  Great views of other mountain lakes beautiful sunsets and sunrises. The trail is very nice and well marked the entire way. All the climbing is worth every minute once you see the lake....Ross Lake wasn't worth the trip. Horrible fishing and rough trail. I'd recommend other destinations over Ross Lake. Lots of the forest in the area has burned and is not very scenic....
