Beautiful Kit Lake has much to offer visitors. This lake is so wonderful. Here at Kit Lake you'll most likely meet some people from Jackson, and while you're here, you could also have a look at gorgeous Icefloe Lake. Camping is available at Teton Campground, and you can go for a hike on the Lake Solitude Trail. This lake is located in the wonderful Teton Range.
So many exciting things to do here in the Teton Range, too perfect to be true. You need to stop at

| | Schoolroom Glacier since you're here at Kit Lake, and glide down the rapids of Gros Ventre River in a kayak. It is very dried out here at Kit Lake usually; of all the months in a year May is the one with the most rain; August meanwhile is the driest month. And that's not all you can do here at Kit Lake. A day on the slopes of Jackson Hole is just what you need; since you're here at Kit Lake it's a tremendous idea to stop by Alaska Basin.

enjoy all the enjoyable things in the Teton Range. If you came for an overnight stay Teton Village / Jackson West KOA is a good site to camp. This lake is so wonderful. If you need a site to stay Snake River Lodge And Spa is a nice
choice, and if you haven’t been to Grand Teton National Park, you ought to schedule some time for it since you're here. Summer brings highs in the 70's to Kit Lake. For the period of the moonlight hours it's commonly in the 40's.
The winter brings highs down to the 20's; during the dark hours in the winter at Kit Lake temperatures plunge to the 0's.
That right there is a load already, but it goes on; Kit Lake has it all. Alpenhof Lodge is a glorious spot
to get some rest, and get dripping wet paddling on Ditch Creek. There are brilliant spots to explore along the Alaska Basin Trail, and Hurricane Pass is close by, and is a good place. You'll stumble on a picturesque lake called Snowdrift
Lake near Kit Lake, and perfect hiking is available along the Paintbrush Divide Trail.
All year is a tremendous time in the Teton Range if you like the outdoors. The skiing at Snow King is magnificent; the summit of Buck Mountain can be seen from Kit Lake.

Lake Solitude Trail
 | July 18, 2008 Just got back from a hike to the lake yesterday. Always incredibly beautiful at any time of year (when the trail is open) A lot of flowers blooming earlier than usual because of the copious amount of melt. A bull moose, sow and calf near the trail just past the fork. The last half mile is covered in snow so that can slow you down a little. The lake is still almost completely iced over. Saw two 13'' fish (trout?) in the small, open area of the lake. Marmots snuck around our lunch spot hoping for a hand-out (don't feed anything). One of the most beautiful hikes around. If you think you're a strong hiker but haven't done many hikes or aren't used to the altitude, bring enough water for about a seven hour hike. Stronger hikers can make it in about 5 1/2 hours & seasoned hikers less--but count on a bottle of water (and Gatoraid) every hour.... |

Jenny Lake Campground
 | We love Jenny Lake and want to camp their with our family and friends...4 kids, 4 adults. I am worried about not having reservations....is that a problem?...Jenny Lake Campground was awesome. The view was amazing. It was quite and secluded, the camp store is just a short walk from the camping sites. The lake is beautiful and quiet, no boats zipping around. We stayed at site #50, other sites that I would recommend are 45,46 and 47. These sites have the best view. The best thing was the FLUSH toilets. If you want a vacation away form all of the touristy things you should definitly stay at Jenny Lake. If you get there in the afternoon grab a site. You can always move the next day. It seemed like a lot of people only stayed 1 night.... |
