If you come at the right time of year, Tensleep Creek offers some great whitewater, also Kearney Lake Dam is worth checking out if you're here. If you came for an overnight stay Little Goose Campground is a tremendous place to camp; you can have a splendid hiking adventure along the Solitude Trail. Kearny Lake Reservoir is one of the lakes here in the Bighorn       Mountains. Be careful coming to the Bighorn Mountains, you might not ever want to return back home again. Not far from Kearny Lake Reservoir, you'll hit upon Beaver Lakes which is a beautiful lake; going for a hike along the Stockwell Trail will let you absorb the natural beauty of this neighborhood. What a site this is for outdoors people. A great nearby hotel is Sheridan-Days Inn. Why not camp at Highland Park Campground since you're here at Kearny Lake Reservoir,                  and do take a hike on the Penrose Park Trail. For the period of the warm months highs here at Kearny Lake Reservoir get into the 60's, and through the night it cools down to the 30's. Daytime highs during the winter are in the 20's, and winter nights come with lows in the 0's to Kearny Lake Reservoir.
