Island Lake is located in the Wind River Range. This lake is so wonderful. A pleasant spot for whitewater paddling close to Island Lake is Boulder Creek, and here at Island Lake you can catch a glimpse of Elephant Head. here while February is mostly the driest month.
A lake nearby is Titcomb Lakes, and if the weather is great, you can go for a hike along the Seneca Lake Trail. During the summertime at Island Lake temperatures are frequently in
the 80's, and all through the night it cools down to the 40's. The cold days of the winter come with highs in the 30's while Island Lake overnight low temperatures through the wintertime are in the 10's. This lake is so wonderful.
Indian Basin is a great location, and Island Lake is not the only site nearby, Upper Jean Lake is a nearby lake.
Now, you may believe that's lots but there's even more fun things to do here in the Wind River Range. On a wonderful
day you can explore Big Water Slide, a swamp in close proximity to Island Lake; going for a hike along the Titcomb Basin Trail will let you absorb the natural beauty of this area. Have a delightful hiking adventure along the Indian Pass Trail, and Upper Fremont Lake Campground is a wonderful local campground.
