If you are in Park county it's always a good idea to stop by Island Lake. Just can't get enough of the Absaroka Range. Dry warm beds await you at Yodeler Motel. Hiking along the Lewis and Clark Trail is splendid fun; Island Lake is great enough to spend more than a day at, Island Lake Campground is a great local campground. This lake is one of the great places here in the Absaroka Range.
A great location to camp here at Island Lake is Long Lake Campground;

| | Beartooth Lake is a nearby lake that you could stop at. This lake is so wonderful. Very pretty scenery and glorious skiing is what you get at Red Lodge Mountain, and Island Lake is right by the Beauty Lake Trail. And that's not everything you can do here in the Absaroka Range. There are some pleasant whitewater spots on Clarks Fork Yellowstone River, and do check out Sheep Lake, it's a scenic lake.

in the 70's with nighttime lows in the 30's. Daytime highs during the wintertime are in the 20's; overnight lows at Island Lake during the winter usually descend into the 0's. From a precipitation point of view Island Lake is a relatively
typical place; the month of June is the wettest with most of the rain, and October is the month with the least moisture. And if that's not sufficient, there's plenty more to do near Island Lake. There's whitewater on Clarks Fork Yellowstone River for all you adrenaline people, and do take a hike on the Beartooth Highlakes Trail.
