During the warm days of summer highs here at Island Lake reach the 70's while night lows are ordinarily in the 30's. Highs during the wintertime are generally in the 20's, and overnight lows in the 0's for Island Lake. If you need a site to stay Chateau Rouge is a delightful choice, and Clarks Fork Yellowstone River has a wonderful whitewater paddling spot nearby. There are perfect locations to explore along the Beartooth       Highlakes Trail; Cliff Lake is a nearby lake that you could explore. This lake is so wonderful. Go for a hike on the Lewis and Clark Trail, and if you came for an overnight stay Island Lake Campground is a brilliant place to camp. The amount of precipitation that falls at Island Lake is close to the national average; of all the months in a year June is the one with the most rain; the driest month of the year is October. You believe that's enough? Just getting                  warmed up. Dry warm beds await you at Cary Inn, and Long Lake Campground is a great campground here. There's no way anybody can get bored here in the Absaroka Range. The skiing at Red Lodge Mountain is wonderful. The Absaroka Range scenery is always beautiful. So many exciting things to do in the Absaroka Range, not sufficient time.
