I think the WY Game and Fish spends all their golden trout stocking funds on wolves now. The stocking ended the year the wolves were reintroduced.........Hmmm, isn't that interesting! Also....too many llamas and horses bringing the light-weights up the mountain to clutter the place this time....the trails looked like a lost group of Custard's cavalry must still be riding the trails. :( But the beauty of the area will always remain. This lake is located in the wonderful Wind River Range. Man, is there a heap of enjoyable things to do in the Wind River Range. After a long day outdoors Best Western Pinedale Inn is a great spot to spend a night or two; why not take a refreshing hike along the Pyramid Lake Trail. This lake is so wonderful. Big Sandy Campground is a wonderful local campground; hiking is a popular thing to do around Ice Lakes; Fremont       Trail is a nice local trail. At Ice Lakes all through the warmest time of the year highs are in the 80's, and during the night it cools down to the 40's. The wintertime brings highs down to the 30's, and winter nights come with lows in the 10's to Ice Lakes. Get yourself into a kayak and hit Bull Lake Creek, and you'll come across a pretty lake called Darren Lake. Now, you may believe that's a lot but there's even more entertaining stuff to do here at Ice                  Lakes. The top of Baily Peak is easily seen from Ice Lakes; Scab Creek Campground is a nice campground nearby. Ice Lakes is a location that is quite dehydrated generally; all through the month of May you get the most rain around here while December is the month with the least amount of precipitation. Kagevah Pass is a wonderful place to discover, and there's great hiking along the Middle Fork Trail. So many enjoyable things to do here in the Wind River Range, too nice to be true.
