If you like lakes and you're in this part of Wyoming you can check out Ice Lakes. The Wind River Range scenery is always beautiful. There are brilliant spots to explore along the Pinto Park Trail, and if you came for an overnight stay Big Sandy Campground is a magnificent location to camp. Get wet paddling on Middle Popo Agie River, and there are other spots here than Ice Lakes, for example Deep Creek Lakes. Around Ice Lakes you don’t get a lot of rainfall;

This lake is so wonderful. Don't leave Ice Lakes without first going for a hike along the High Meadow Trail, and lakes are such peaceful places, why not explore Echo Lakes. These mountains rock, just explore all the amusing things
to do in the Wind River Range. Going for a hike on the Ice Lakes Trail is always a magnificent adventure, and why not camp at Dickinson Creek Campground since you're here at Ice Lakes. I can't stop, cause I'm havin' a magnificent
time here at Ice Lakes. Pinto Park is a nice site to check out; since you're here at Ice Lakes, checking out Chimney Rock is a must.

Papoose Lake
Lake seemed fishless although a beautiful lake. Was there 2 days and only saw 1 rise. Nice place to camp though as there is low traffic. Make sure you follow outlet to avoid massive rock pile....
Gustave Lake
13 miles away I was told by my Grandmother (Olive Bentley) that this lake was named for her father Gustave States, the owner of the Canyon Ranch. He had homesteaded Sinks Canyon and the surrounding area, where my grandmother remained until just prior to her death in 1976 at the age of 96....
Ice Lakes
19 miles away 1 PHOTO I went up there 15 years ago and just got back from another week this last weekend....the fishing was much, much better in the past. I think the WY Game and Fish spends all their golden trout stocking funds on wolves now. The stocking ended the year the wolves were reintroduced.........Hmmm, isn't that interesting! Also....too many llamas and horses bringing the light-weights up the mountain to clutter the place this time....the trails looked like a lost group of Custard's cavalry must still be riding the trails. :( But the beauty of the area will always remain. Thank you, Lord, for your beautiful handiwork....
