Near Horseshoe Lake you hit upon the Moon Lake Trail which is a splendid hiking trail, and Union Lake is a nearby lake that you could go to. So much cool stuff in the Wind River Range, just inspiring. If you come at the right time of year, Boulder Creek offers some wonderful whitewater. High temperatures at Horseshoe Lake during the summertime are in the 80's. For the duration of the dark hours of summer temperatures       descend down into the 40's. Highs through the winter are regularly in the 30's, and winter nights come with lows in the 10's to Horseshoe Lake. This lake is so wonderful. A good nearby hotel is Best Western Pinedale Inn; the Highline Trail is a brilliant hiking trail nearby. If you need a site to stay Super 8 Motel - Dubois is a splendid choice, and do visit Marion Lake, it's a charming lake. Whohoo, so many fun things in one place! Horseshoe Lake is great! Triangle                  C Ranch Snowmobile is a magnificent local campground, and soar down the rapids of Green River in a kayak. This lake is one of the great places here in the Wind River Range. Life's too short to enjoy all the fun things in the Wind River Range. Why not camp at Rawhide Ranch while you're here at Horseshoe Lake, and going for a hike on the Roaring Fork Trail is always a great adventure.
